Membership
Who Can Join?
Any student who has taken a course in Family and Consumer Sciences, or as determined by the state department of education, middle school through grade 12 is eligible for active membership in an affiliated FCCLA chapter within their school. Once the state and national dues are paid, the student will be an official affiliated member. Teachers must join FCCLA too. Teachers certified to teach Family and Consumer Sciences education, or as determined by the state department of education, can serve as the FCCLA chapter adviser. Texas now has its first Post-Secondary FCCLA chapter at Texas Tech University.

Affiliation
Affiliation is the submission of your member names and membership dues. This is done in the National FCCLA portal. If you have questions or need assistance with affiliation, please contact the state office.
Texas FCCLA chapters must affiliate through the National Affiliation Portal (linked below). Each chapter must have a separate primary advisor.
Important Deadlines:
November 1: Chapter advisors must electronically submit chapter member names in the affiliation portal by November 1 in order to compete in STAR/Proficiency Events or run an officer.
November 15: Affiliation payment must be processed and applied to the invoice in the National Affiliation Portal by November 15.The National FCCLA portal should NOT be used as a record-keeping system. Chapters are responsible for paying all dues of members submitted.
