Claim or Renew a Scholarship

Texas FCCLA scholarship recipients must submit the required documentation at least 30 days before the start of each semester to claim or renew their scholarship. All requirements must be completed in accordance with the applicable Texas FCCLA Scholarship Procedures.

Claiming Your Scholarship for the First Time

If you are receiving your scholarship for the first time, complete the following steps.

Step 1: Complete the Recipient Information Sheet

Step 2: Submit Your Upcoming Semester Schedule

Provide a copy of your upcoming semester schedule from the accredited Texas college or university where you are currently enrolled.

Additional Requirement for CJ Davidson Scholarships

First-time recipients of the CJ Davidson Scholarship or CJ Davidson College Scholarship must also submit a verification letter from the dean or department chair of the School of Family & Consumer Sciences.

The letter must confirm that:

  • You are enrolled in at least 15 credit hours for the upcoming semester.

  • You are majoring in Family and Consumer Sciences.

Step 4: Upload Your Documents

Upload and submit:

  • Your completed Scholarship Recipient Information Sheet

  • A copy of your upcoming semester schedule

  • Your verification letter, if required

Scholarship Disbursement

Once Texas FCCLA receives and reviews all required documentation, scholarship funds will be disbursed if you continue to meet the scholarship's eligibility requirements.

Payments are made directly to the registrar or financial aid office of your college or university.

Renewing Your Scholarship

If your scholarship is renewable for multiple semesters, you must submit the required documentation at least 30 days before the start of each semester.

Step 1: Gather Required Documents

You must provide the following:

Verification Letter
A letter from the chair or dean of the Family and Consumer Sciences Department confirming:

  • Enrollment in at least 15 credit hours for the upcoming semester

  • A major in Family and Consumer Sciences

Official Transcript
An official transcript must be sent directly from your accredited Texas college or university to Texas FCCLA.

Transcripts should be emailed to programcoordinator@texasfccla.org

Step 3: Submit Your Documents

Upload and submit:

  • Your verification letter

  • A copy of your upcoming semester schedule

Important: Your official transcript must be emailed or mailed directly from your college or university to Texas FCCLA. Transcripts submitted by the student will not meet this requirement.

Scholarship Disbursement

Once Texas FCCLA receives the renewal application and all required documentation, your scholarship will be reviewed for eligibility.

If you continue to meet the scholarship requirements, the award will be disbursed directly to the registrar or financial aid office of your college or university.

Which Scholarships Can Be Renewed?

Fall Semester Renewal

Recipients should submit all required renewal documentation according to the 30-day deadline before the start of the fall semester.

Be sure to allow enough time for official transcripts and verification letters to be received and processed.

Spring Semester Renewal

Spring semester renewal takes place during Texas FCCLA's conference season. Texas FCCLA hosts six conferences, including the state conference, over approximately 12–13 weeks.

Typical Renewal Timeline

Late September–Early November
Recipients typically submit their upcoming semester schedules and verification letters.

December 1–15
Official transcripts are typically submitted after the fall semester concludes.

Mid-December–Second Week of January
Texas FCCLA processes renewal documentation and scholarship disbursements.

January 10 Deadline

All spring semester renewal requirements must be submitted no later than January 10, 2027.

After this date, Texas FCCLA's focus shifts to conference preparation and facilitation. Late submissions may delay scholarship processing and disbursement.
