Friona FCCLA- Homecoming Fundraiser

FCCLA members sold homecoming cookies as a fundraiser this year. Members created order forms to be filled out by customers and turned in by a deadline. Customers choose from a variety of cookie shapes such as footballs, mums, jerseys, feathers, arrows and arrow heads. Customers were able to customize their cookies with names and jersey numbers. The FCCLA organization had 38 orders with cookies priced at $2-$3 each. Customized cookies were an additional 50 cents. The cookies were available for pick up or delivery a couple of days before the Friday homecoming game. Many of these deliveries were homecoming proposal surprises. Students learned how different sugar cookie recipes do better with cookie cutters and hold their shape. The icing technique learned for this project was outlining and filling in. The money earned from this fundraiser helped to buy each member a Friona FCCLA t-shirt. Cookies were finished off in a cellophane bag with a bow and tag.  FCCLA members enjoyed this fundraiser and look forward to doing it again next year.
