Champion FCCLA- Sole Hope

Every year for three years, Champion High School’s FCCLA has teamed up with Sole Hope to put shoes on feet for those in Africa who aren’t as fortunate to have a pair. Sole Hope is an organization that helps kids in Uganda by giving them shoes to prevent tiny parasites called jiggers, which prevent kids from going to school, running, or just playing around. The club starts by getting the donated jeans out and ready to cut. Then, they have members come in after school to help cut the jeans following a stencil to send to Sole Hope, who will then create pairs of shoes. They made over 100 shoes this year, just as they had previous years, and plan to make more pairs next year.
