Friona High School- Friona's Flurries of Fun

“Friona Flurries of Fun” was a community service project aimed to bring students with disabilities together for a day full of winter excitement.   29 students from the daycare, primary and elementary school attended and 21 FCCLA members lead the activities.  FCCLA project leaders created a fun and educational environment by planning 10 centers, lunch, and a visit from Santa.  Their goal was for each student to participate at their maximum potential.  FCCLA leaders made this possible by learning and applying modifications for physical and mental disabilities.  Modifications were made for different age levels and attention spans as well.  These Students went home with a bag full of crafts they made and goodies donated by local businesses.  Friona’s FCCLA members worked hard to make this day very special and memorable.  Not only did the students go home with goodies, but Friona’s FCCLA members created a Christmas tree on canvas of the student’s fingerprints for them to cherish this day also.
