EVENT RUBRICS

STAR / Proficiency Events

  STAR events (Students Taking Action with Recognition) are competitive events in which members are
recognizied for proficiency and achievement in chapter and individual projects, leadership skills, and career
preparation, STAR Events offer individual skill development and application of learning throught the following
activities --

      Cooperative - teams work to accomplish specific goals
        Individualized -- members work alone to accomplish specific goals
        Competitive - individual or team performance measured by an established set of critieria

Top 6 winners at the region meetings advance to the State Leadership Conference.

  Proficiency Events are competitive events exclusively for Texas.
Winners at the regional meetings can only advance to the State level.
